Description
If you are developing .NET Framework 2.0 applications that use Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, the new Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) credentials provide a simpler and more targeted framework to showcase your technical skills in addition to the skills that are required for specific developer job roles.
The Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) credential highlights your job role, featuring your specific area of expertise. Now you can easily distinguish yourself as an expert in Windows development, Web application development, or Enterprise applications development.
There are three MCPD certification paths:
- Professional Developer: Web Developer
- Professional Developer: Windows Developer
- Professional Developer: Enterprise Applications Developer
The Microsoft Certified Professional Developer: Web Developer
The MCPD: Web Developer certification demonstrates that you have the comprehensive skills that are required to build interactive, data-driven Web applications that use ASP.NET 2.0 for both intranet and Internet uses.
How to Earn Your MCPD: Web Developer
MCPD: Web Developer candidates must first complete the requirements for the MCTS: .NET Framework 2.0 Web Applications credential (two exams). After earning this certification, candidates may earn their MCPD: Web Developer by passing one additional required exam.
If you are a Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD), you can upgrade to the MCPD: Web Developer certification by taking one upgrade exam. You do not need to obtain the MCTS prerequisite credential if you take the upgrade exam.
